What if they change the Tennis scoring system like Badminton’s?

Question by julian6789: What if they change the Tennis scoring system like Badminton’s?
In Badminton, everytime you win a point, you directly got one point and the right to serve. Whoever reach 21 first with at least 2 scores, win the set. Do you think it would be more interesting or less interesting?

Tennis Playing Ladies and Golf Playing Gents having most affairs!

“New balls please!”

London, UK (PRWEB UK) 29 June 2011

Undercover Lovers, the UK’s premier dating service for people already in a relationship, surveyed its 500,000 members on their favourite sporting pastimes. Of the 5,425 female respondents, tennis was the overwhelming No 1 option for the ladies, with 25% citing a knock up on the courts as their preferred choice of physical activity. Amongst the 4,995 male respondents, golf was the clear winner, with 27% of the philandering gents choosing it as their favourite leisure pursuit.

A hot and sweaty work out at the gym was the second most popular answer for both genders, chosen by 18% of the women and 20% of the men. Yoga was the third most popular sporting pursuit for Undercover Lovers’ adulterous ladies whilst rugby was third pick for the guys.

The results of the survey are as follows:

Women Top 10

1. Tennis             25%

2. Gym Session     18%

3. Yoga             14%

4. Aerobics     12%

5. Running             10%

6. Swimming     7%

7. Walking             5%

8.= Golf             3%

8.= Cycling     3%

10. Badminton     2%

Men Top 10

1. Golf             27%

2. Gym Session     20%

3. Rugby             15%

4. Football             10%

5. Fishing             7%

6.= Running     6%

6.= Cycling     6%

8. Swimming     3%

9.= Squash     2%

9.= Cricket     2%

Site spokesperson and co-founder Emily Pope said of the results: ‘It’s interesting that the top choices for both our female and male members are highly competitive, individual sports. People who have affairs tend to be high risk taking go getters and their choice of leisure pursuits seems to reflect these characteristics.”

Her French co-founder, Amélie Duval commented: “The UK’s husbands should be aware that when their wives are admiring Rafa Nadal’s rippling torso whilst watching Wimbledon this week, and the umpire says ‘New balls please,’ that their thoughts may be straying elsewhere, to an illicit lover. And UK wives should perhaps suspect that when their husbands claim to be going out for a game of golf, they may have a different kind of hole in one in mind!”

can someone who is really good at badminton be really good at tennis?

Question by Snejana: can someone who is really good at badminton be really good at tennis?
Hi I’m 19 and i’m hopefully planning to join a tennis sports club, last year I’ve been getting good reviews from my PE teacher when we used to play badminton at school I’ve always dreamed of playing tennis but sometimes when i think of it I think its way harder than badminton … I dream of being a tennis champion is it too late to start?

Best answer:

Answer by Simon M
Normally it’s the other way round: If you are good in tennis then you might be good in badminton.
Of course you can begin playing tennis any time and if you are talented you can be quite successful.
But you won’t become a pro anymore, when you begin playing tennis you get the basics very fast but normally it takes some years to get much better.

Why should a table tennis player not like badminton?

by admin | No Comments | Filed in Training

Question by Justin: Why should a table tennis player not like badminton?
I asked this 11 year old yesterday at my table tennis tournament if he liked badminton. He was Asian no less. You’d think he’d appreciate a racquet sport from his background country. What’s not to like about it? He said that he doesn’t like badminton. I love racquet sports in general. The Big 3, table tennis, badminton, and tennis, in that order of favorite to least favorite.

Answer by David
Hey, it’s fine if you like both. But they are completely different games. Would you expect a baseball player to love cricket or vice versa just because they both use bats? Enjoy the games you want and allow others to do the same.

Is it OK to use a tennis racquet overgrip on a badminton racquet?

by admin | No Comments | Filed in Training

Question by Genie: Is it OK to use a tennis racquet overgrip on a badminton racquet?
I have two extra rubber tennis racquet overgrips with me. I was planning to replace my current towel overgrip on my badminton racquet, but I have no time to go to the store to buy one.

Best answer:

Answer by fuxuej
Short answer is yes. I use tennis overgrip on my badminton rackets all the time. They are the same. However, the longer answer is:

There are two types of grips. One is replacement grip and another is overgrip.

Normally, the overgrip is placed on the top of original grip and being replaced frequently once it’s getting old.

The replacement grip is much thicker than the overgrip and only to replace the original grip.

The towel overgrip is much thick, so sometimes it’s placed on the handle with the original grip removed. If you are going to replace the towel grip, then you need use one overgrip if you still have the original grip on the handle. If the original grip is gone, you need a replacement grip (thicker one) plus one overgrip (thinner one). Some people use two of overgrips without using the original grip. It’s up to you.

How do lefties become more advantageous in badminton and tennis?

by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in Training

Question by Music for life: How do lefties become more advantageous in badminton and tennis?
I’ve heard that lefties have an advantage in playing badminton and tennis and I want to know what it is or, do they really have?

Carl, 17, university badminton and tennis varsitarian

Answer by djokerfan02
I do not know how they would have an advantage in badminton, but then again I don’t know much about the sport, although it is probably similar to tennis. In tennis lefties have an opposite spin on the ball than most righties do, and because left handed people are less common than right handed people, and on top of that not tons of people play a lot of competitive tennis lefties are played less than righties for most people. This advantage comes from most people not being used to the opposite spin that the left handed players produce on their serve and groundstrokes (on their slice serve instead of the ball spinning to the left, instead it spins to the right, and on the american kick serve the ball kicks up the opposite direction). Also as you know for right handed people on the right side of the court when serving their slice serve can spin over enough to push their opponents off of the court, left handed people though are able to push their opponents off of the court on the left side of the court. This may seem relatively unimportant, but on the left side of the court is when most of the important points are played (All break points are played there except for 15-40, and all game points are played for the server on the left side of the court except for 40-15). This explains why Rafa can save so many break points in his matches. So overall they only have an advantage when playing people who aren’t used to playing lefties. Hope this was the info that you were looking for.
